Best Practice Australia (BPA) is a boutique research company based in Brisbane, Australia, which over the last 25 years has grown to become one of Australia’s leading providers of Engagement surveys. BPA was founded by Glenn Parle in 1992 with the aim of investigating and measuring the factors in organisational culture that contribute most to organisational performance.
In 1995, Jacqui Parle joined the company and initiated a focus on the health sector, which is a major sector of BPA's research, although our products are relevant to any service organisation.
To date over 520,000 individuals have told their personal stories of their working life in their organisation.
Our values are extremely important to us. They are foundational values that guide everything we do at BPA. BPA actively recruits by these values, performance manages by these values and, if necessary, dismisses by these values. This is how we work on a daily basis and this is how we interact with clients, suppliers and each other.
“Doing the Right Thing Every Day”
Responsibility is taking ownership of the consequences of everything we do, and everything we fail to do. It’s our choice – doing the right thing every day or letting other people wear the consequences of our actions.
“Doing the Hard Things Every Day”
Courage is speaking up (when it is easier to say nothing) and stepping forward (when it is easier to do nothing). It’s our choice – doing the hard things every day or letting other people fight our battles for us.
“Truth – above all else”
Searching out the truth each day. Speaking the truth each day and enabling others to tell their Truths, respectfully and safely every day.
Having worked with over 900 organisations, here are just a few...
“...The surveys have always been undertaken with complete professionalism.”
“I have utilised BPA in 3 different settings – a state wide public health service, a national faith based not for profit and most recently a small community based not for profit. Whilst the results have been very different in each organisation, the surveys have always been undertaken with complete professionalism. Staff have had confidence in the process and the results have always been delivered in a way that ensures the organisation capitalises on the outcomes and utilise the learnings to improve cultural elements of the business”.
— Lesley Jordan, Chief Executive Officer Twilight Aged Care

“Since 2010 Jesuit Social Services has engaged BPA to conduct its Employee Survey. In that time we have doubled our staff numbers and have seen an ongoing increase in employee engagement as shown by the survey results. Our organisation values, being welcoming, discerning and courageous are key foundations of the partnership and relationships we have with BPA. BPA’s expertise and professional approach is a significant contributor to our staff choosing to take up the opportunity to be heard and participating in the survey. In short they know that they can shape the future of the organisation by having their say and they do."
